Purpose - This review paper aims to explore the influential impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across key sectors, healthcare, education, mental health, and business, while emphasizing the integration of Human Intelligence (HI) and the emerging concept of Artificial Wisdom (AW). It addresses the need for ethical, sustainable, and human-centered AI to ensure responsible technological progress.

Design/methodology/approach - Using a comprehensive review methodology, the paper synthesizes recent interdisciplinary research on AI’s applications, challenges, and ethical considerations. It critically examines sector-specific advancements and issues, including the use of Learning Analytics (LA) in education, conversational AI, human-AI decision-making, and AI-driven organizational change.

Findings - The review identifies significant advancements in AI-enabled systems, particularly in enhancing empathy, emotional intelligence, and contextual decision-making. It highlights ongoing challenges such as algorithmic bias, workforce disruption, and performance saturation. The paper also underscores the importance of transparency, privacy, and ethical governance for sustainable AI adoption.

Originality/value - This review offers a unique contribution by framing AI’s evolution through the lens of Human-AI synergy and Artificial Wisdom. It presents novel insights into the ethical integration of humanized AI and proposes frameworks for collaborative, inclusive, and responsible AI deployment across industries.
